NZ made kiln formed glass art
Glass is a remarkable thing. It starts as something raw and ordinary, and with heat, time and a pair of hands, it becomes something you want to give to the person you love most.
That's what Red Hot Glass is about. I'm Kate Cornwall, a glass artist based in Ohakune, and for the past several years I've been making kiln-formed glass art that carries a little bit of Aotearoa in every piece — the light off the water, the red of a pohutukawa in full bloom, the quiet beauty of the landscape we're lucky enough to live in.
Whether it's a wall piece that stops people in their tracks or a pendant small enough to tuck into a birthday card, everything I make is created with the same intention: to be something genuinely worth keeping.
